With only two people caring for hundreds of animals, we need serious help.
Volunteering here is hard work, but it keeps the lights on and the animals fed.

1. The "Visit First" Rule
Do not apply online if you have not visited us. Come to the zoo as a customer first. Find a staff member and ask what the day actually looks like. If you haven't seen the work, you aren't ready to do the work.
2. The "Friendly" Birds
Our turkeys, geese, and peafowl are free-roaming and intrusively friendly. They have no concept of personal space. If a 20lb bird walking up to you makes you nervous, this is not the place for you.
3. The Dirty Work
Playtime is a reward. The actual job is cleaning. We desperately need grunts who aren't afraid to sweat. Your main duties will be:
- Scooping poop and cleaning enclosures.
- Push-mowing grass in the summer heat.
- Scrubbing water buckets and hauling feed.
4. Events & Field Trips
Not built for the mud? We need reliable volunteers we can call on for our big events and group visits:
- Field Trips: Guiding school groups (weekdays/weekends).
- Event Crew: Crowd control, parking, and setup.
- Characters: Playing Santa, the Easter Bunny, etc.
Under 15? You must volunteer alongside a parent/guardian at all times.
Under 18? You will need a parent to sign your waiver.
