White-faced Black Angus

Domesticated livestock found globally. They are descended from the wild Aurochs, which once ranged across Europe, Asia, and North Africa before going extinct.

Ruminant herbivores (grazers).

• Wild: Grasses, legumes, and clover.
• Zoo: Pasture grass, high-quality hay, and cattle pellets.

• Production: 2 – 5 years
• Pet/Zoo: 15 – 20+ years

• Black Baldy: The “White-faced Angus” is typically a cross between a Black Angus and a Hereford, known for being hardy and having good mothering instincts.
• Four Stomachs: They have a four-compartment stomach (rumen, reticulum, omasum, abomasum) to ferment and break down tough grass.
• Vision: They have panoramic vision (about 300 degrees) and can see everything except what is directly behind their tail.
