Mini Pigs

Domesticated livestock found worldwide. Their wild ancestor, the Wild Boar, has one of the widest ranges of any mammal, native to most of Europe, Asia, and parts of North Africa.

Opportunistic omnivores with a powerful drive to root.

• Wild: Roots, tubers, fruits, small animals, and carrion.
• Zoo: Pot-bellied pig pellets, hay, vegetables, and fruit.

• Wild: 4 – 8 years (Feral)
• Captivity: 15 – 20 years

• Intelligence: Pigs are widely considered smarter than dogs and can learn complex tasks and solve problems.
• Cleanliness: Despite the reputation, pigs are clean animals. They wallow in mud only because they lack sweat glands and need to cool off.
• Snout Sensitivity: Their snout is a highly developed sensory organ used to dig and sense the environment.
